As part of OASIS Outreach — a global conscious community created by Gabrielle Mendoza to support wellbeing from within — this session bridges the worlds of psychology, mindfulness, and embodied healing.

In the first half of the evening, Scarlette Yuen, registered counsellor from The Counselling Collab SG who trained in Restorative Yoga under Gabrielle Mendoza, will guide a grounded exploration into emotions and the nervous system through a trauma-informed lens. Drawing on her background in Psychology and Counselling, Scarlette will unpack how emotions are processed through the brain, body, and nervous system — and why emotions are not problems to fix, but important messengers carrying information about our inner world.

The session will explore the difference between primary and secondary emotions, and how protective emotional responses can sometimes mask deeper feelings, unmet needs, and relational wounds beneath the surface. Participants will also learn how emotional awareness, language, empathy, and validation can support nervous system safety, regulation, and deeper connection with ourselves and others.

The evening will conclude with a gentle restorative practice and reflection, offering space to meet emotions with greater curiosity, compassion, and care rather than overwhelm or avoidance.
