Unburdening: A Practice for the Tender-Hearted

Gabrielle Mendoza

Founder and Principal Trainer of Uncovering the Oasis Within

A tender-hearted warrior who has lived the ache of self-pressure and is now fiercely committed to helping others meet life with softness, courage, and care.

I’m Gabrielle, a heart-on-sleeve crusader who knows too well the weight of being hard on oneself, and is devoted to making this world a softer, kinder place to land.

There are seasons in life when the weight of “not enough” presses heavier than we expect — the projects that didn’t unfold, the moments we stumbled, the hopes that slipped through our fingers. But what if failure was not a verdict, but evidence of courage? What if every misstep was simply proof that you tried, that you showed up, that you dared to care?

This restorative practice invites you into a soft space of forgiveness and spaciousness — a place where you can exhale the pressure to be perfect, and offer yourself the grace you so freely extend to others. Through gentle postures, supported stillness, and mindful breath, we explore what it feels like to loosen the grip of self-judgment and allow learning to be part of our becoming.

Here, you are invited to rest not in spite of your imperfections, but because of them. To give yourself room for error, room for tenderness, and room to grow. Let this practice be a reminder that every time you fall, you rise with new wisdom — and that your journey, messy and magnificent, is worthy of compassion.

Come as you are. Leave a little lighter.

With love, Gabrielle
