Kirtan: A Prayer for Peace

Kirtan: A Prayer for Peace

There are moments when the heart carries more than words can hold.

Across the world, people are living through conflict, displacement, loss and natural disaster. We may witness this suffering from afar and feel grief, helplessness, compassion, or even guilt that life continues as usual while others are enduring so much.

A Prayer for Peace is an invitation to gather and give that heaviness somewhere to go.

Through kirtan, mantra and collective song, we create space for grief and prayer to meet—not to turn away from what is happening, and not to pretend that singing can solve what is broken, but to remember our shared humanity and offer our voices in solidarity, compassion and hope.

No singing experience is needed. You are welcome to chant, hum, listen, cry, sit quietly, or simply be held by the collective sound.

Perhaps our individual prayers cannot change the whole world at once.

But together, through song, we can create a small space where sorrow is witnessed, love is expressed, and peace is practised. Through our collective voices, we offer a raised vibration of love, peace and healing, sending it outward as a prayer to all those in need—across borders, beyond distance, and wherever suffering is being felt.

Can our grief, our hope, and our prayers for the world converge through song?
