The Spaciousness Series

About this series

Unlocking the body's innate ability to down-regulate into the relaxation response — its capacity to rest, digest, and restore — is akin to discovering an oasis in the desert. Within this refuge, we consciously begin to unwind the effects of modern life: stress, emotional overwhelm, mental rumination, and deeply held tension that slowly erodes our wellbeing.

Rooted in mindfulness and nervous system regulation, Restorative Yoga by Gabrielle Mendoza offers a gentle pathway back to ourselves. Through breathwork, meditation, and a fully supported passive practice, we create the conditions for the body to soften and release layers of accumulated stress.

With the luxury of time, guided relaxation, and a deeper understanding of the mind-body relationship, participants are invited to cultivate spaciousness, replenish their inner resources, and receive the care their nervous system so deeply deserves — supporting resilience, preventing burnout, and restoring the capacity to live fully and well.

Choose from the individual sessions, or undertake them as a series, over 5 Friday evenings in October.

Session 1: Increasing Our Window of Tolerance

Explore how we can expand our capacity to navigate stress without becoming overwhelmed, creating greater space for emotional regulation, resilience, and empathy towards ourselves and others.

2 October 2026, 7.30pm - 9.00pm

Session 2: What We Resist, Persists

An exploration of embracing the full spectrum of the human experience through Tara Brach’s four-step RAIN practice, learning to meet difficult thoughts and emotions with greater mindfulness, understanding, and compassion.

9 October 2026, 7.30pm - 9.00pm

Session 3: The Space Between

Cultivate the pause between stimulus and response by creating more space between our breaths, thoughts, and actions. Through mindful awareness, we practise responding with greater intention rather than reacting automatically, reducing unnecessary conflict in our relationships.

16 October 2026, 7.30pm - 9.00pm

Session 4: The Art of Letting Go

Learn to recognise the outdated beliefs, expectations, and narratives that may be limiting how we experience life. By loosening our attachment to what no longer serves us, we create space to discover new perspectives and unexpected silver linings.

23 October 2026, 7.30pm - 9.00pm

Session 5: Moving Through, Not Moving Past

Explore the difference between truly processing our experiences and simply leaving them behind. This practice offers a pathway towards accepting where we are today, releasing our grip on yesterday, and softening the need to control what tomorrow may bring.

30 October 2026, 7.30pm - 9.00pm
